Begging for baggage

What shall I show you today of the wonders of travel?
The calls and communication required to allow Janka to rent a car to try and pick us up in Frankfort because the plane connection we were rebooked to but could never have possibly made in the first place was missed?

The lines at Lufthansa asking about where our baggage was?

The steadfastly closed door with baggage claim personnel in Luxembourg who refused to even check if our bags may have arrived without the proper Lufthansa paperwork for baggage claim completed first?  Which was impossible because their website wasn’t working, and the gate agents in Luxembourg working the Lufthansa gate were really LuxAir employees empowered to do absolutely nothing?

How about the hour wait for someone in India to answer our Lufthansa baggage claim call which finally came through in a Luxembourg parking garage?

So no luggage yet, but at least a claim started (we think?)  but this all sounds dreadful and there was a lot of great things too.  Sadly though I was too tired to remember to take pictures.  But Janka came to our rescue in Frankfurt and also had a delightful bag of goodies and necessities ready for our arrival.

We had a fantastic Lebanese dinner with wait staff who clearly know and love Janka like we do and gave us free appetizers and desserts and especially generous pours of digestives and apertif.  Even a nice ramen lunch in Frankfurt architectural site Squaire - and how can you go wrong with good ramen, edamame and German beer?

So all is not lost. (Just our baggage).  And what I could see of Luxembourg through the sleepy eyes of 24 hours of no sleep looks charming.

Tomorrow is another day to yell at Lufthansa and to get on with enjoying vacation.  We are here - we are together - and that is  what really matters.
